Tarannum Al-Quran

I am currently learning Tarannum in which the word Tarannum originates from the work tarannama, yatarannamu tarannum which means singing. Dr Ruuhi al-Balbaki and Arabic expert clarified that the root word is rannama, yurannimu, tarnim which means intonation, modulation, recital, chanting, singing or humming.

Tarannum is a method for reciting with certain pitch, tone & melody.

There are 2 sessions for adults on every Sunday at AtTaqwa Mosque, Taman Tun Dr Ismail.

Ustaz Amirrahman teaches in the morning session.

Ustaz Nasir teaches in the afternoon session.

Ayat Al-Quran we have completed Tarannum with Ustaz Amirrahman is Surah AlWaqiah.

The session with Ustaz Nasir is actually for beginner of Tarannum but we may attend both classes. With Ustaz Nasir we are learning Surah Al-Mu'minun.

There are 2 types of Tarannum - tarannum asli and tarannum murattal.

The one that is recited in Tilawah Al Quran is tarannum asli whilst the one that normally being recited during prayers is tarannum murattal.

InsyaALlah with the knowledge of tarannum, it is hope that it can bring more sense and feeling whilst reeciting the Al Quran.
